Jackie & Jillian’s Dispatch Services

GENRE

Fantasy/Fairytale Chapter Books (Ages 7-9)

ABOUT

Jackie and Jillian are cousins who go about the village, the forest, and even the city, as they manage their dispatch services. Whether it’s delivering packages or running errands, there’s always an adventure to be had. Join Jackie and Jillian as they make friends, explore the world, and learn what it means to be a team!

BOOKS

I hope to have twenty, since they’ll be on the shorter size. The books will take place over one year when they are staying with their Grandmother. There will be five books during each season, and I have the ideas for most of the stories.

STATUS

I will be working on a draft soon, but right now this series is in the planning phase.

NOTES

This was a fun idea I came up with when I was trying to think of a chapter book series I could write. Not every book will feature fairytale elements, though many will. The first book, of course, will share how “Jack and Jill” came to start a Dispatch Service.

Kids Business Series

GENRE

Picture Books

ABOUT

Follow a young girl who’s full of business ideas and ready to share! Watch as she takes you through, step by step, how to go about each start-up. Though… she may still have some things she needs to learn about each field.

BOOKS

I’m not sure exactly how many books there’ll be, but I have three book ideas so far. I hope for there to be more than that in the future.

STATUS

The first book has a rough draft, the other two have rough outlines. The biggest obstacle with this series will be finding an illustrator.

NOTES

This book idea was originally for a short story collection. Once I realized it could be children’s books, I wrote a rough draft and was happy to see it would work!

Fantasy Adventure Series

GENRE

Middle Grade Fantasy Chapter Books (Ages 8-12)

ABOUT

A girl who recently lost her uncle learns that he had secrets to hide. When a strange woman and her daughter show up at her uncle’s academy, everything begins to unravel. The girl learns that nothing is what it seems, and there may be more to her own story than she realized.

BOOKS

The original plan was for this to be a trilogy. Now, I’m thinking it might be a serial series.

STATUS

I have a rough draft of book one. I’m considering making these books shorter, however. Possibly more episodic, meaning each book would be a quick read, but there’d be more of them.

NOTES

I don’t remember how I thought of this series exactly. I drafted book one a few years ago, and I really liked the story. I still have a few details to work out, but the characters and world have already captured me. I can’t wait to get it out, hopefully soon!

Mystery Series

GENRE

Middle Grade Mystery Novels (Ages 8-12)

ABOUT

A girl and her best friend find themselves wrapped up in all kinds of mysteries. From summer camp to home and everywhere in between, follow along as they try to find out whodunnit.

BOOKS

I don’t have an exact number of books. Over the years, I’ve had many different ones, though not all of them are a good fit. Currently, I have three that I’m happy with.

STATUS

Book one was drafted years ago and has had some edits. It’s definitely in need of an update, but that was one story that I had a lot of fun with! There was another book I drafted that I ended up not liking and don’t plan to rewrite. Though I only have some basic plot ideas, I’m excited to write the other two stories I’m planning.

NOTES

This was a fun story that got started quite by accident. The characters are fun to follow along with as they try to get to the truth of the matter. I’ve always loved mysteries, so the series seemed appropriate. This was the kind of story I would have loved growing up.
